Successful project with Nippon Express - delivery under DDP terms

Another successful project with Nippon Express – one of the global leaders in logistics.
This time, we delivered a special soil mixture along the route Hamburg → Kyiv → Oleksandriya.

Our Lviv-based team provided:
preparation of all documents in line with Ukrainian customs requirements
  delivery from Germany to Ukraine
coordination of customs procedures and unloading at the client’s site

The cargo had a chemical specification, which required precise product code identification, documentation review, and additional consultations for the client.
We completed the entire process without delays – from receiving the order to full unloading in just one week.
For us, this shipment is more than just a case.

It’s another step in our collaboration with Nippon Express, for whom we act as an official agent in Ukraine.
Nippon Express plays an active role in Ukraine’s national recovery programs,
and we are proud to contribute to projects that truly matter for the country’s future.

Special thanks to our colleagues from the NX GROUP (NIPPON EXPRESS GROUP) Warsaw office for their timely coordination and professionalism.

DDP in Ukraine: mission possible. How we delivered goods from Japan "from beginning to end"

In logistics, it’s often said that DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) in Ukraine works only in theory. The concept is simple: the sender pays for everything – freight, customs duties, taxes, and even unloading. The receiver just accepts the cargo.

But in practice, paying Ukrainian taxes on behalf of the consignee is an equation with many unknowns. Especially when the consignee is a Ukrainian state institution and the sender is a company from Japan.

 The task:
Our Japanese partners were sending humanitarian equipment to Ukraine and wanted to cover absolutely all expenses.
The consignee (a government entity) could not and should not pay anything.

Formag forwarding solution: We became the link that made this process transparent and fully compliant.
Acted as the financial and legal “bridge” between the Exporter (state institution) and the Importer.
Coordinated and finalized all necessary shipping documents before departure to avoid surprises at the border and during customs clearance.
Organized delivery and, importantly, all unloading operations on site (which required special equipment).

The result:
The cargo was delivered, cleared, taxes were fully paid by the Japanese side, and the government institution received the equipment with zero administrative burden.

We won’t say that DDP in Ukraine is easy – it requires meticulous document management. But we proved: with Formag Forwarding, it is absolutely possible.
