Delivery of bridge components from Japan to Ukraine: logistics supporting the restoration of transport routes

December 2, 2025

Installation of a modular steel bridge donated to Ukraine as humanitarian aid from Japan has begun in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The structure is expected to restore an evacuation route to one of the frontline cities.

The project involves the installation of a modular steel bridge supplied from Japan. Road construction teams are currently assembling 40-meter spans, while the total weight of the steel structures exceeds 216 tons. Modular bridge systems allow transport connections to be restored quickly where infrastructure has been damaged.

Formag Forwarding organized the delivery of the bridge components to Ukraine. The shipment followed an intermodal route with several stages from Japan to Ukraine, combining sea, rail, and road transportation.

The transportation was carried out under tight timelines related to the construction schedule and the importance of the site for civilian infrastructure. Particular attention was given to coordinating transshipment operations, verifying documentation, and supervising the cargo at each stage of the route.

This project illustrates how logistics supports the restoration of critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
