Multimodal delivery of oversized industrial equipment from China to Ukraine
Project cargo from Qingdao to Kyiv | Flat Rack & Open Top containers | Sea + inland delivery via Port of Pivdennyi
We arranged a one-time sea + inland road shipment of oversized equipment — industrial fermentation tanks and units (part of a fermentation line) — from Qingdao, China, to Kyiv, Ukraine. The priority was to keep the entire project moving as one coordinated lot, using the right container types for out-of-gauge cargo.
Route: Qingdao (CN) → Port of Pivdennyi (UA) → inland delivery to Kyiv
Mode / terms: Sea + road | FOB (Qingdao)
Cargo: oversized fermentation tanks & equipment (project cargo)
Equipment: 3×40’ Flat Rack + 6×20’ Open Top + 8×40’ Open Top
Scope: 58 packages | 353,500 kg | 901.468 CBM
Handling: reloaded at Pivdennyi onto lowbed trailers; tarpaulin protection against moisture
Transit time: 40 days
Because several units were oversized in height, we used lowbed trailers for the inland leg and applied additional tarpaulin protection during reloading to reduce moisture and impact exposure at the most sensitive point of the route.
The result was a controlled project shipment delivered in 40 days, with coordinated timing across equipment types and careful handling of partially sensitive components (filters, motors, electrical units).
